directly on Lake Faak
Our 2.6-hectare campsite directly on Lake Faak has 140 pitches, all of which are equipped with electricity (16 A). The pitches are in the sun, in partial shade or in the shade.
The water of Lake Faak is so turquoise that you would expect to see this play of colours in the Caribbean rather than in the sunny south of Austria. The water temperature is up to 28°C in summer. The water in Lake Faak is completely renewed every 1.8 years and is therefore of the highest quality and freshness. The purest spring water also comes out of every tap at our campsite!
Our 6,000m2 sunbathing lawn remains free, so all our guests can enjoy the view of the lake and not just the front row!
Pitches are always changed at 12.00, so you can have breakfast in peace on your day of departure, pack up and go home without stress.
In May and June you can cancel free of charge up to 1 day before your arrival, no deposit is required! This does not apply to mobile home bookings!
We only accept tents, caravans and motorhomes (without car) with a maximum length of 7.5 metres (incl. drawbar or guy ropes).
As we respect the night's rest from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., we ask for your understanding that we do not accept reservations from groups (exception: European Bike Week).

There are numerous sports facilities in the surrounding area. We will be happy to advise you!
There is a bus stop right by our entrance, and with the free ErlebnisCARD, which we will be happy to issue to you in the office, many adventure programmes, the bus in the region and the S-Bahn in Carinthia are free! Isn't that great?

We are the campsite on Lake Faaker See to have been awarded the Carinthian Quality Seal!
Ours is a beautifully maintained, natural campsite, with plenty of shaded areas under pine trees as well as sunny spots- the choice is yours! All of our 140 pitches are drained and sanded for your convenience. What makes our campsite so special is the wonderfully spacious sunbathing area (6,000 m2) directly at the lake, combined with a beautiful pebble beach and plenty of space for everyone.
We also have a pier and a jetty from where we proudly fly our flag, making our campsite easy to recognise even from the water. And when the sun sets in the evening, the view from our restaurant terrace or one of the lakeside benches is simply breath-taking! The perfect way to relax and leave the daily grind far, far behind!
The famous waters of Lake Faak (Faaker See) with their turquoise-blue hue is more reminiscent of the Caribbean than of Austria. During the summer, the lake reaches temperatures of up to 28°C and the water is clean enough to drink. The range of sports facilities and daytrip destinations in the area is huge- we will be pleased to advise you!
During July and August, we offer free-of-charge programmes for children and adults like yoga, fishing lessons for children, kid´s disco, soccer matches).
Tell your friends and acquaintances that they are welcome to come and see you at the campsite between 9AM and 9PM. Please note that visitors must register in the site office and pay for a day or half-day ticket.
Our campground is open from May 1st until September 21st. We are looking forward to welcoming you!

Our restaurant + pizzeria also has its own playroom with a sliding door. The terrace and the restaurant are large enough to accomodate both families with young kids and guests without children, without getting in each other's way.
Our beach area is ideal for keeping an eye on the kids while they play at the lake, on the jetty and the large playground.

Your dog will have a good time here, resting in the half-shade next to your caravan, RV or mobile home and looking forward to his next walk with you. We also have a dog shower – great for cooling down or cleaning up your dog after a particularly vigorous walking session.
Beautiful walking routes are located in the immediate vicinity of the campground (2 minute-walk), and a 10-minute walk will take you to a brook running through the forest where your dog can cool down.
Due to the Austrian bathing hygiene regulations, your dog is unfortunately not allowed to go on the sunbathing lawn or swim in the lake. You are welcome to take your dog for a walk around the campsite and you are more than welcome to take them with you to the restaurant (+pizzeria) and the terrace.
If you are traveling with your dog, all pitches are available except for the first row along the sunbathing lawn by the lake.
If your dog is in heat, you will unfortunately no longer be able to stay with us, we are very sorry!

Our sites are located either in the sun, in the half-shade or full shade. You are welcome to book a tent site with us, but please note that we do not accept bookings for specific site numbers! The advantage for you is that you are free to stay on a particular tent site for as long as you like, without ever having to move. We are of course happy to help with selecting the site that is right for you, taking into account your wishes and requirements. We will do everything we can to ensure that you are next to family or friends. Our 6,000m2 sunbathing lawn remains unobstructed at all times, which means that all our guests are free to enjoy fantastic views of the lake, not just those in the first row.
Changeover: 12 noon
Please note that we do not keep a quiet hour at lunchtime.
Evening curfew: 10pm until 7am. Please note that it is not possible to leave or enter the campsite during those hours.
Please note that we are unable to accept bookings for a specific site. Sites are allocated by our office.
Fun and games for the whole family!
During the months of July and August, we offer our guests a versatile animation programme that has something for everyone.
If you prefer to be left in peace, don't worry – our animators are unobtrusive and won't disturb you.
Also try our multi-faceted programme!
Our weekly S.U.P (Stand-up-Paddling) and kajak-courses are also highly popular. For relaxation, there is free Yoga and Yogilates directly on the lake – a wonderfully calming setting! For children there is a kid's disco and a football match. One time a week, a free fishing course for children and youngsters takes place. With the ErlebnisCARD, numerous activities such as guided hikes, city tours, climbing courses, admission to thermal spas, public transport such as buses and S-Bahn throughout Carinthia and much more are free of charge!
We are the pioneers of camping in Carinthia!
Our campsite was founded in 1948 by our paternal grandparents, Hans and Waltraud Gruber, and was the first of its kind in Carinthia.
Hans Gruber had the ground-breaking idea when strolling along the deserted shores of Lake Faak and shortly afterwards set up the first professionally run campsite in Carinthia on what was then considered a worthless stretch of lake shore.
His daughter Claudia Skrube and her husband Klaus eventually took over the business and continued to run it with the same passion and commitment.
In May 2014, the family business passed into the hands of the third generation of the Gruber-Skrube family, and our passion for all things camping-related has not waned one little bit. The fourth generation is already staking its claim and also loves swimming and playing in the lake!
