Lake Faaker See is a paradise for anglers. In the crystal-clear, turquoise water (water quality 1) of the lake you will find lake trout, arctic char, tench, pike, pikeperch, bass, sheatfish, whitefish and carp. Hardly any other alpine lake has so many whitefish, because Lake Faaker See has the ideal temperature and depth for them. All our guests can go fishing on Lake Faaker See, because you don’t need an official angling licence! Fishing tickets are available directly from our campsite office. Guests staying overnight on the campsite are welcome to fish from our jetty in the evening, at night or in the early morning when there are no bathers on the beach.
Hire of aluminium rowing boats (with electric motor)
We offer our guests who would like to go fishing barges. You can also book an electric motor. If you hire a boat, you are welcome to take it out at night and bring it back at night. You are free to select the times and are not bound by our office hours. There is a deposit box for returning the key and electric motor. Our 6 fishing boats are right alongside our jetty. Simply get on board and off you go! The fish can be prepared on one of our three barbecue areas on the site, so you can enjoy sheer nature. Guests who are not staying overnight on the campsite are also welcome to buy fishing tickets and hire fishing boats. However, only guests staying overnight are permitted to fish from the jetty. Every Friday we also hold a young anglers course on the jetty for children and teenagers, which is free of charge for holders of the Region Villach Card that we give to every guest at the check-in.
Boat prices: rowing boat: 15 € per hour, 1 day 100 €. E-boat (only for fishermen): 1-3 hours 20 € per hour, from 4 hours 15 € per hour
Children under 7 accompanied by a person with a fishing ticket are free of charge. The ticket runs from 0.00 to 24.00, so multi-day cards can be used overnight too. 2 fishing rods may be used with each fishing ticket; naturally the catch is included in the price of the ticket and can be eaten immediately. Fishing on Lake Faaker See is simply fun!
